The ledger
Core-X keeps money in an append-only journal. Every movement is a set of debits and credits that must add up to zero, and the database itself refuses anything else.

What it does
- Each posting is a balanced double entry across customer and general-ledger accounts.
- Entries are never edited or deleted. A mistake is fixed with a reversal that is itself on the record.
- Every payment carries an idempotency key, so a retry or a double click can never move money twice.
- Balances are kept by the database as entries post, and can be rebuilt from the journal at any time.
- A reconciliation run proves the books agree with themselves: entries balance, balances match the journal, loans, plans and holds match the ledger.
